Portland Bible College has been training young men and women for life and ministry since 1967. Our passion is to empower and equip our students for worldwide impact. They are arrows, formed and shaped by God during their time here at PBC and then sent out with power and purpose to accomplish His work.

In 2020, we updated our logo and brandmark to reflect this perspective that our students are God’s arrows and that we part of the process He uses to form them. Check out this video below to see the meaning of our brandmark:

PBC: God’s Arrow Factory

Our vision to form arrows that God will shoot into the darkest regions of the world to accomplish His purposes was formed through studying God’s Word and hearing his voice both prophetically and through history.

Isaiah 49:1-2 is a key passage for the college. In this passage, God uses the arrow to represent the servants He will shoot out to fight against the forces who were opposing His ways. God uses his servants to accomplish His purposes on the earth just as a literal archer would use arrows to defeat his enemies.

At our 50th Anniversary Celebration, Danny Bonilla – a pastor, prophet, and long-time friend of PBC – gave a prophetic word that contributed greatly to our vision of the college as an arrow factory. You can watch that video here:

Lanny Hubbard, one of PBC’s most experienced and beloved professors, outlined the vision to our students during a chapel service. You can listen to the podcast here:
